Benefits of Hydrotherapy

What is Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy is the use of water to promote health and healing. By using the effects of water on the body; buoyancy, warmth, and turbulence (Hydro-massage) we are able to help reduce the effects of pain, stress and discomfort. Hydrotherapy is found to be especially beneficial for people with sports injuries, Arthritis, aching joints, muscular pain, stress, stiffness, Rheumatism, Sciatica and general tiredness and aching brought on by modern living and much more besides.

How does it work?
When the body is immersed in water it is as much as 80% lighter, this removes the pressure on the muscles, joints, ligaments and spine. The warmth of the water (or steam) makes the blood vessels dilate (increase in diameter), which increases blood circulation around the body. Heat also enables the cells to more easily rid themselves of metabolic waste, which is replaced by oxygen and the body's natural nutrients. The movement of the water passing over our bodies gives the body direct and often immediate relief as it massages the muscles and joints. This is most especially noticeable in Whirlpools where the powerful jets massage the body. This direct stimulation relaxes the muscles in the area, so allowing the muscle or joint to mend. As the water massages areas of the body, endorphins are produced, which in turn further assist pain relief. Massage has been shown to improve flexibility, increase circulation and provide generally restorative benefits. When you are in pain or under stress, chemical changes in your body can cause the blood pressure and pulse rate to increase, having regular hydrotherapy treatments can help you to reduce these symptoms by slowing down the process of stress reaction. Hydrotherapy is also thought to also help regulate the body’s temperature by improving the efficiency of the body to perspire. This further helps the body remove toxins and can lead to a much improved skin appearance and healthy glow.

Steam Shower Buying Guide - Your peace of mind

Bathtek specialise in providing high quality bathroom and ensuite products; suites, showers, steam showers, shower towers, waterproof TV etc. We realise the importance of providing quality products at good prices, but also the need for a full back up support of parts and customer service department too.
All the products we supply have been carefully sourced by ourselves to offer a product that will provide many, many years of trouble free service.
Bathtek’s main speciality is Steam Shower cabins. We are the sole UK distributor of the range of units we sell and as such are the only people fully able to support the product with spare parts. Anyone else offering the same models and who are not being supplied via ourselves are likely to be buying via a third party and therefore not able to fully support you after the purchase as well as probably charging you more in order to pay the middle men. We also work with the manufacturer to improve the products we sell and ensure they meet the standards that we and our customers expect.
We feel it is important when selling via the internet to make things clear. To that end, we strive to ensure that all wording is clear, measurements and pictures are accurate, but on occasions there might be a delay in updating the website with improvements or modification to improve the products. If you have any doubt or questions - JUST CALL US!

GLASS: All the Shower cabins we supply have tempered safety glass of between 5-6mm. This means that it has passed the necessary tests to ensure that should the glass break, it will shatter into very small pieces with no sharp edges. The back panels of the cabins are made of mirrored tempered glass. The colour can only be described as darkened/tinted in colour, which contrasts well with the white acrylic and being mirrored you cannot see though it, so you do not need to tile behind the cabin, and so save money!

FRAMES: The frames of our cabins are made 1.2mm aluminium, which offers good structural support and stability. The cabins are designed to be free standing and to enable easy servicing should the need arise. By sliding the cabin forward your plumber can attend to any work that may need to be carried out in future.

TUB/BASE: The tub/base of your shower has to fully support the weight of the occupant/s. If a base is not supported on a steel frame it has a tendency to flex, leading to cracking of the base or unbalancing the occupant/s. All Bathtek shower tub bases and steam whirlpool cabins are fitted with a fully supporting framework bonded to the tub, which affords you a stable footing and assists in offering overall structural stability.

THERMOSTATIC VALVE: Our showers, shower towers, steam showers and whirlpool baths all have thermostatic values. This is to enable you to mix the water temperature to your requirements. Each thermostatic dial also has a safety device built in to allow water up to 38 degrees only. Pressing the button on the control overrides the safety device and allow you to have a shower or fill the bath to a higher temperature.

SHOWROOM: Seeing a product first hand is always the best was to be assured of the quality of what you are buying. This is the reason we have a showroom where you can come and see our range of products first hand and see for yourself before you buy. We are also franchising the Bathtek brand, which will enable us to offer more locations throughout the UK for you to view them. If you are a Costco Member and have a store near you, why not pop along and see a small selection of our products available through them.

STOCK LEVELS: We always strive to have all products available, but production times and high demand mean we are sometimes out of stock of some items. We try to make the website very clear about what items are in stock and will always inform you when placing an order if the item is in or out of stock. Should you have to wait for delivery, we are happy to accept a small deposit (refundable) ensuring the item is allocated to you when it arrives with us. We will then notify you it’s in stock and take the reminding payment before delivery.

DAMAGES DURING TRANSIT: It is an unfortunate fact that damages can occur in transit. We therefore always recommend that you check your box contents upon arrival and notify within 24 hours of any damages, we can then send replacements as quickly as possible. It is advisable not to have your plumber/fitter standing by to install until you have had time to check the delivery, and allow time to receive replacements if required.

CERTIFICATION: CE, RoHS industries approvals. The steam generator and pump we use pass TUV approval and the pumps also pass UL approval.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY: All our Whirlpool baths and Steam Showers come with an RCD (Residual Current Device) fitted for your safety. The products also come with a standard UK 3 pin plug, naturally for safety reasons this should never be used in a bathroom or ensuite location and so should be removed and ideally the electricity supplied via a Fused Spur.

Whilst we constantly strive to ensure the website answer your questions and provide you with everything possible to make a considered, safe reliable purchase, there are allows particular questions that a we have missed, so please do not hesitate to call us or email your questions and we will be happy to assist.

Bathtek Customer Services

Bathtek Hartlepool Opens!

We are pleased to announce the opening of another Bathtek Showroom - Bathtek Hartlepool. Brothers Jeff and James McNeilly have been Bathtek preferred fitters for over a year and for them the step into becoming a fully fledged franchise seemed fairly obvious. Jeff and James have installed so many showers for customers the length and breadth of the country, even working weekends and evenings in order to ensure they could keep up with installation demand and their customers deadlines. Over the time installing Bathtek Showers and Whirlpools, both Jeff and James have come to appreciate the ease in which the products install, the support and help offered by the company and decided that they had on their doorstep a wealth of potential customers who could benefit from their skills and service. Jeff and James still continue to offer the installation service and so have brought Glen Higgins on board as their full time Sales Manager to show customers around the products they have on show in the showroom.
If you are in the Hartlepool area then pop along and have a look around, as with all our showrooms, we offer a no pressure approach to selling. http://www.bathtek-hartlepool.com/
